  • In order to register a South African birth, marriage or death certificate in Poland, the following documents must be submitted:


    Registration through the Consulate


    Required documents:


    1. Original Unabridged certificate: original will not be returned.
    2. Certificate must have an Apostille: this is a legalization which can be obtained free of charge from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), address: OR Tambo Building, 460 Soutpansberg road, Rietondale, Pretoria (08:30-13:00, Monday to Friday).
    3. Translation of the certificate done by a sworn translator.
    4. Completed and signed application form (in the case of children, both parents must sign the application).
    5. Copy of the applicant’s identity document or passport (in the case of children, copies of both parents’ documents).
    6. Fee in cash (please contact the consulate for confirmation of the exact amount).


    Please note that it is also possible to register a certificate in Poland in person or via a proxy. In this case, we suggest that the translation is done in Poland. The remaining required documents should be taken to Poland or sent to the proxy.
