  • POLISH CITIZENSHIP

  • The applicant should make an appointment with the Consul (email: konsulat.pretoria@msz.gov.pl). During the appointment, the following documents should be presented:

     

    1. Application form, completed and signed by applicant.

    2. Copy of valid identity document.

    3. Document confirming the current nationality of the applicant: valid passport or act of naturalization (with Apostille and translation into Polish by a sworn translator).

    4. Detailed biography in Polish, dated and signed by the applicant, comprising the details of Polish ancestors and information regarding the circumstances under which the applicant (his/her parents or grandparents) left Poland and arrived in RSA.

    5. Birth certificate, with Apostille and translation into Polish by a sworn translator.

    6. Marriage certificate (if applicable), with Apostille and translation into Polish by a sworn translator.

    7. Supporting documents confirming Polish ancestry, such as citizenship of parents on applicant’s birth date, place of last residence in Poland, copies of parents’ or grandparents’ Polish passports, etc.

    8. A proxy must be selected in Poland who is authorised to collect documents from the Polish office on the client’s behalf; please complete the proxy form.

     

    Fee in accordance with table of consular fees.

     

    Waiting time is 6-10 months.
